On the 22nd of May 2015, which was also the International Day of Biodiversity, the school had taken part in the Greenwave Project 2015. This project is carried out by students and youth from around the world to raise awareness about biodiversity. This year, we planted a tree named Garcinia Subelliptica(also known as Happiness Tree). It has a columnar form, upward pointing branches and leaves. This plant, commonly known as the Fukugi tree is a very slowing growing species. In the Ryukyu Islands, Japan, some of the oldest trees (100 to 400 years old) are only over 10m. These ancient trees were planted during Ryukyu Kingdom period as wind breaks.
