Dr Tan Kim Teng has been appointed as the Vice-Principal of Wesley Methodist School Seremban (WMSS) effective from 11/2/2019. Prior to this, she has served as Head of English Department, Senior Head of Language Department and a Form Six Academic teacher of MUET in several government schools under the Ministry of Education.
She has more than thirty years of teaching experience in Malaysian government schools and specializes in the field of education especially in the teaching of English. She holds a doctorate in TESL (USM, 2012), a Masters in Education (TESOL) and a BA ED (Hons) specializing in the teaching of English.
She believes that she is in WMSS not by accident, but by the calling of God. She hopes to contribute to the establishment of WMSS as an exceptional learning institution based on Christian ethos. She is in line with the Wesleyan tradition that education is not only about churning out individuals with excellent academic qualifications but building a person of character who is interested and involved with the surroundings.
In short, education to her is to produce “aces” in the true meaning of its word, that is excellence in the academic area, excellence in character and involvement in extra-curricular activities. She prays that with God’s anointment and wisdom, she would have a significant role to play in moulding students into aces who would strive for the betterment of society and the humankind.
